Exhaust experiment
Alright, the kit from Nameless Performance that supposedly makes 12whp seems like a great deal at around 1k even, but I don't like the look as much as I do the almost 900 dollar catback Greddy EVO3. I figured I could take the Greddy EVO3http://www.greddy.com/products/exhausts/evolution3/)
and pair it with downpipe w/ high flow cat(w/overpipe) from Nameless Performance: (http://shop.namelessperformance.com/...aces-overpipe/) Isn't there a midpipe or something that goes inbetween the two? I'm pretty sure that buying these two packages would still leave me with a stock header(of course) and a stock midpipe. I'm not sure of all the technicalities here. Any insight is appreciated because i'm new to exhaust mods. My dad has a shop with a hydraulic car lift, so installing will be no problem. |

Yes, you will still have a factory exhaust piece (Midpipe I believe it's called) it's between the Nameless overpipe/downpipe combo and the Axleback you will bet. |

Thanks for clarifying! |

Resonators help a LOT with drone. Resonators do not restrict flow, so you will not loose horsepower. If loudness is a concern, (and if I were you since you plan to also do headers I would be) you should get the Helmholtz resonator they provide (Nameless). That resonator is design specifically to tone down the highest sound frequencies and minimize drone. |

I personally like it as quiet as possible, but know some other people like as loud as possible or at least lets say, louder than me. So consider that, and you can safely go both ways. |

On another note, I clicked "buy" on the EVO 3 and it comes up with another page offering more detail about the exhaust. http://www.shopgreddy.com/exhaust-he...3-exhaust.html It says it does not include a midpipe, which means that this "catback" is just a muffler, am I right? I thought that just a muffler was an axleback, and a catback included a midpipe and muffler! I'm confused now more than ever. :bonk: |

Then the other one says, "retains catalytic convertor, front pipe and mid pipe."- http://www.shopgreddy.com/exhaust-he...3-exhaust.html I think i'll go ahead and contact their support and ask them if it's an error. |
The stock resonator reduces the exhaust/header/engine resonance. The optional resonator offered by Nameless (Helmholtz resonator) is in addition to the stock resonator that stays in place. They offer this to further reduce a resonance they find that pops up a bunch with aftermarket headers they're working on. Mixing exhaust will bring mixed results. YMMV.
