OEM Audio Plus upgrade

I'm considering ordering the upgrade and there should be a second stage upgrade coming out in the new year, replacing all the speakers.

I've seen one review on this site praising the system.

Anyone else go for this option? Has to be more than one. If you've heard it do you think it's worth the price?

I had this system. I agreed to buy it, since the dealer was slipping me in line and already packaged this system with the car. I do not think it is worth it. I just replaced everything except the sub. I don't want to loose the trunk space, or add too much weight.

The thing is, this is the first time in over 20 years that I decided to spend some decent money on car audio. If the system is around $1100 installed, that might be a decent upgrade. I do not know what it cost to do this level of upgrade at an audio shop. I happen to be in a position to throw more money at the system, so I wish I could have saved the $1100 for a system starting from the ground up.

No way would it be worth it. It's for idiot kids who don't know how to do anything themselves and that want to be cool with their friends.

Even having an audio shop do an install would certainly yield better results for the same budget.

That seems about right.

Actually understanding that one size usually does not fit all and that sometimes only an incremental improvement is needed, this might be a good option for some of us (me) that have full systems in their other cars (and are too lazy) that this is an easy install without ripping into everything.

I will let you know when I get it installed.

P.S. I'm not an idiot kid :)

Not saying all are, just most. Ease of use has a lot going for it, but I'm a cheap bastard and that costs far too much for what you get IMHO :D

But then again, I do everything I possibly can myself, even if it's not perfect the first time. Really want to build a house now...

I agree with the price. I would not buy it for that either. I'm trying to get it much less!

House? I'll be right over. Just buy the pizza and beer :)
