LED lighting upgrade and Flasher Relay.

I am 80% though switching all the lights to LED. I have put LED's for the reverse lights, license plate lights, trunk light and dome light. I am still waiting on my LED rear turn signal bulbs and switchbacks for the fronts to come in.

I will try and get pics at night, just been busy.

To deal with the hyperflash I replaced the flasher relay instead of doing resistors at each bulb. Worked perfectly.

Note to those interested in doing it, have a small friend with little hands help out. Or at least get a pair of mechanics gloves to avoid this:

To get my fat ass under there and snake my big paws through the dash to pull that little bugger out was a chore to say the least. There is all sorts of fun sharp stuff under there near the relay so be careful.

Where does the flasher go? I bought the turnback bulbs and the flasher fuse from V-LED's and have no clue where to put the flasher please help!

The flasher is inside the dash under the steering wheel. This is my writeup for the install on my site. I gave @EmilGH credit because he is where I found the info on the location.

Hey, I'm switching to LEDs as well, and read that the relay may or may not affect whether the lights blink when you lock/unlock the car; are you having this problem, or do your lights blink as usual when you lock/unlock the car after having installed the relay? Thanks!

Same thing happened too me! I cut my hands up and I did it in the cold morning... :bonk:

Lights still blink as normal when lock and unlock.

Just got mine in and set up.

Do you guys remove your old relay or just leave it there?

I left mine mounted but just plugged the LED relay into the cable and left it hanging since there isn't much slack and the relay doesn't weigh enough to worry about it.

I cut my knuckles up pretty good this morning installing mine lol. Do your flashers cause the first flash of the signal to stay on slightly longer than the following flashes? When i turn the signal on, the first flash stays lit for around 1 full second and every flash after that is the normal half second or so.

I noticed that as well, anybody else?

Ive noticed this, but i dont think its terrible. Also, good luck getting the factory relay out. It took me a real long time to get out, even after taking all of the panels off to get a clear shot at it. I totally shredded the white clip that the relay sits in...but i did get it out and put the LED relay in its place

i got it out with a good pull... only problem is i had 2 things in my hand. The flasher and a whole lot of blood. looked like i just punched some bricks. I cant seem to get the clip out of the original one though to put on the new one

i guess that longer initial flash might be normal. I just emailed diode dynamics to see if it's supposed to do that

i never had those long initial flash. i bought my relay from JWMotoring. LED from automationLED.
