Stocks sitting in the lot longer now...

My local dealer has this Firestorm sitting in the lot for over 3 weeks now. It looks like demand is slowing down or production is catching up. Regardless, it's easier to get your dream color now.

Hm I'd imagine demand here to be pretty strong still. Where are you located? That's good news though.

Markup?

My location is northern VA or DC metro area. I've looked at surrounding dealerships too through their websites and most of them have 1 or 2 available stocks. I don't see markups either.

I think it is demand for Autos, at least by me. You still can't find a stick anywhere, but there are quite a few automatics sitting.

Rampage 09-10-2012 11:57 AM

Agreed. There are automatics to be had around my area also. I have seen them sit on the lot for up to a month. The manuals are gone within days.

It depends on the market in your area. In the Seattle area you are still on a couple months waiting list for one, but if you drive 300 miles east to the other side of the state you can find available stock on dealer lots.

a sliver one has been on the lot near me for a while now. i haven't checked to see if its auto or manual.

You may need to confirm all info with a dealer directly. In my dealings with contacting regional dealers it seems many are purposefully leaving sold vehicles on their inventory list. Also many dealers are listing the cars at msrp online but have a markup nonetheless. Fortunately in the Richmond area everyone seems to be asking msrp.

When I picked mine up the sales manager told me he had 4 autos that he could not get rid of but all manuals were spoken for.

I went to the dealership to ask money factor for a lease, out of curiosity. I was told they were looking at 4-6 months backorder on manuals because they still had a waiting list. They might be able to pull some strings and swap an auto out for a manual at a nearby dealership. But if I wanted an auto I could get one relatively quickly.

The dealership near me has 3 manuals but no autos.

Still 78 BRZ's showing in New England, majority of which are Limited 6MT, only a couple Premium 6MT and 6AT, no Limited 6AT.

Agreed. When I went to pickup mine there had been an AT sitting there for 2 weeks.
