[VIC] EOI: White 86 GTS Manual up for grabs
 

G'day all,

Like many, I'm frustrated with my car not coming as told. been told by dealer sept build/nov delivery. ordered 23rd june. and im not sure if i can wait any longer... its killing me too much.

I possibly may opt out and hopefully find someone to take over my contract if i do decide to call it quits. If you are interested let me know and I'll let you know what i decide. I can give you contact details of the dealership the order was placed at and we can go from there.

Can definitely relate to your frustration, my suggestion would be to hang in there and look for a short term solution as in buy a cheap car to get around

Some time next year you will regret cancellation of your order. At most 1000 bucks is stranded ???

Hang in there mate, I think your car won't be too far off. The web tracking should update again by end of next week. You will know if your car is really planned for November production by then.

I highly doubt it that its planned for Nov production given that I ordered the same car on the same day with another dealer.

Had a quality conversation with stock controller @ my dealership and got some information regarding the most sought after car GTS manual.

At this stage she said orders that were placed in May are being filled in and We there was an influx in ordered from early June onwards Nationally.

The "system" and TMCA confirmed the same for me that Nov production as its the default month the system does predict. It means that TMCA has confirmed the order but Japan is yet to accept.

Once the order is accepted by Japan that is when your production month will be confirmed, at this stage its in "limbo mode".

My stock controller was very upfront and said I could be waiting until Feb next year and even that is not confirmed.

That's why I said give it a few more days to see if the status is going to change by next week to see if we can get more information

Why dont you just hold on to the order, buy the car and flip it for a profit after it comes, im sure there will be heaps of people out there who wouldnt want to wait 12-18 months for the car and gladly buy it for a slight premium (~5k)? beats being out 1k and then still looking for a new car.

Get a GT somewhere, then tell your dealer you want out and site the deletiong of spare tyre as reason, they'll have to refund you no questions asked.

I've been driving my GT for 4 days now and have 0 regrets not waiting for my BRZ order. Its so much fun and the extra features - yeah, dunno, don't do much for me - I'd rather buy my own upgrades later on.

Can understand the color preference situation, but honestly you will have shit luck getting a white gt in manual too.

There is one for sale in Sydney but the dude wants $38k, plus you got stamp duty on top.

yeah i seen that, but yea thats overpriced. oh wells. might have to wait til end of this month to see if things change..

Call the guy up and make him a offer which is realistic (RRP) and see what he says.

I'm with you dnjshin0bi, I am pulling the plug on my order later this week when I can get in to see my dealer in person.

I ordered on 6th of June …. 3 weeks ago I was told my car would be built in November, this after originally being told like everyone else September, then October ..... then surprise surprise it became December build as of last week.

I then got a phone call from another dealer I know who let me know about the future production date’s all being deleted and replaced with TBC .... as far as I can see this is just a way for Toyota to continually bump our cars until it is convenient to build them for Australian customers. Which is B### S### as far as I am concerned.

Back when I was involved with motor bikes I seriously considered getting a Ducati 748R before they stopped making them. This is a tiny little factory in Italy where soooooooooooo much stuff is handmade or assembled, they get back orders for ages, but when you order one, they can tell you within a couple of weeks when yours will be made for you. If one of the biggest car manufacturers in the world can’t do this it can only be Incompetence, Lack or Care or By Design. Whichever one of the 3 it is, I don't think I will bother with it anymore.
