Rear end grumble?
I've got about 7000 miles on my FR-S manual car and in the last 1,000 miles or so I've had a grumble from the rearend. It seems to only be noticeable when at a stop and then taking off while turning(like exiting a parking spot). Seems to send some vibration and make a noise that sounds kind of like turning in gravel. At any speeds more than barely above idle in 1st I don't notice anything. Anybody else having anything like this? I would typically think it's the diff, which seems to be pretty aggressive, but it's recent occurrence makes me think something else.
Thanks for any ideas. |
Try Beano?
Seriously, it does sound like the Torsen diff. Why would you think otherwise? -J |
I don't know...the fact that it just recently started doing it was a red flag. I used to have a camaro ss with the torsen too. It never did this.

Mine does the same thing every day that I leave my neighborhood.

Yea..it seems to be in the same kind of situation most times. I'm not terribly worried, but I would like to hear if many more people are getting the same thing.

try fresh fluids?

It's definitely the LSD... I find that if I turn super slow (for example exiting a driveway); the noise will be heard on mine as well. Don't lose sleep over this. :)

I would still think the factory fill is considered pretty fresh at this point;) |
Sounds like your rear end has been using to much LSD. :-P
