"Carbon Fiber" dash piece

Well it finally happened, the so called "carbon fiber " :laughabove: dash piece got scratched. Went to the scion dealership and the piece runs about 50 dollars. Decided to go to auto zone and see if they had any cheap vinyl wrap. 15 dollars later half way done and i must say it looks alot better than it did before. Ill post pics when i am done.

I do not believe it's intended to look like carbon fiber. It has the same pattern as the instrument cluster, which is more of a "scale" look...

Nice! I hate bubbles.

mbh1101 09-06-2012 10:50 PM

hair dryer heats up the vinyl, but puts air under the vinyl. Loose/ loose situation but i guess i can handle a few bubbles.

The vinyl was positioned backwards.. Should be shinny the other way towards the right of the picture
but other than that looks good

_F-R-S_ 09-07-2012 07:14 AM

Bubbles are only good....................

mbh1101 09-07-2012 09:16 AM

I tried it the first time without a hair dryer and it looked terrible. Tried it again with one and it works wonders. Then i took a razor blade to get the bubbles out. Cost me 15 bucks so im happy
