I F'd up my front bumper :'(
Yesterday morning I was in traffic ,at a light, when I was playing with my phone and I let my foot off the brake. It was a fender bender, and his car had a little scratch, but mine took all the damage. So now I don't know what to do. It's between getting a new bumper of fixing the regular one. You can't really tell from a distance but from close it looks noticable. My car is whiteout fr-s. Any advice? I learned my leason to NEVER, NEVER EVER USE MY PHONE AND DRIVE! I took picutres but it is bad quality. I'll post up better ones when I get on my computer. Is it cheaper to get a new one or fix the same one.:(:brokenheart:

If you were ever interested in getting a body kit, I would say do so now! I mean, it wouldn't make much sense to fix it now if you plan to. Think of it as an importunity to beautify your Fr-s!

May I recommend this bumper?
Its the one I want |
I second getting an aftermarket kit. Now is the time to do it since it needs to be repainted or replaced anyway.

Not much sympathy given the phone usage whilst driving (stopped at lights counts), but definitely agree with others here. Get a new front bumper that you like more than stock and consider it an expensive lesson ;)

It's absurd that people started messing around with their phones in their car because they were bored during their long commute, and the overall end result is that they've made everyones commute worse, including their own. People are so self-absorbed these days, it's getting to be epidemic. |

Not trying to 1up but I've seen people using their iPads or equivalent while driving so now when I drive I pay attention not only to myself but other idiots on the road and best stay clear away from them.
|
I like to fuck with people who are on their phones at stops. If the person next to me is face first in their phone I will roll backwards slowly to make them thing they're rolling forward.
Once their attention is on the road/me I give them the stare down+head shake. http://images.askmen.com/top_10/ente...-moments_9.jpg |

I was thinking of adding a body kit, but I have a question. Does the body kit include a new bumper or just adds to the bumper?:thanks::coolpics::search::eyebulge:

Should've bought a manual. :p

Thats the INGs front bumper. Another one I really like would be the Modellista front end
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3613 Usually for body kits you can buy the whole kit which will normally consist of a new bumper, side skirts and rear however you can just buy the bumper too You should really resize those pics cause its hard to see on the forum. Looking at all those spider cracks tho it can't be pretty. There should be a bodykit thread on this forum just search for it to give you some ideas. Here the thread I just found it. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ght=modellista |
Holy crap our Subaru paint sux!... :sigh: I actually feel quite depressed after looking at those pictures knowing how fragile the paint is. :suicide:

Very lucky that none of the damage ended up on any metal parts from what I can see! I would opt for just a repaint of the entire bumper, forget blending the paint in, it'd cost too much and will still look decent. won't cost you more then a couple hundred.
|
Yes I do like the INGs bumper because it looks amazing. I was also thinking about the GReddy body kit, but it looks expensive. lol http://greddy.com/products/jdm-speci...er/frs-brz-86/

I am currently thinking that I am going to have to wait until December or January to buy a new bumper. For the mean time, I am just going to have to drive around with a bumper of shame. lol
|
The Varis kit looks dope too. (:

30' around me that's just a car or two in any direction around me. Don't know how it is where you guys are but in Toronto more than 50% of people I see driving are on their phones. |
That bumper looks like it just needs to be repainted. The whole bumper will need to be repainted due to the pearl white, otherwise it will not match.
So the only difference between fixing the stock one and replacing with an aftermarket one is the cost of the bumper and the minimal cost to install it. The bonus of getting a new bumper is you could possibly sell your old stock one to a BRZ who wants to do the FRS swap. This would offset the cost of some of the repair. |

After a raccoon incident, I had a NEW bumper cover painted and installed on my BRZ. I think it ran about $750 total, although I did go through insurance. There was a bit of a delay because the parts are so new, but it didn't take thaaaaat long. I think going this route would certainly save money over the aftermarket bumper options. The new (Subaru) bumper itself was quoted at a bit over $300. If there's no damage to your bumper itself, and you only need a repaint, I'd think it should be considerably cheaper than $750. My paint/labor was quoted around $400.

Sometimes I really like cell phones, and change it often.Last year i got a LG Chocolate one, but at my angry moment i throw it away, so it died! And this year i bought this kind of cell phone with cheap price, but i am afraid of his fate then. I hate the noises of irrelevant calls, you know sometimes i just want to be alone, that is enough, anyone knows how can i do? I have got a cell phone jammer, but I heve no idea of it, ask some profession for help!
|
These cell phone jammers are available at a very reasonable price. You can buy this cell phone jammer very easily. As this service takes nominal charges on the network, so you would need to spend a little amount to get complete peace of mind when you are not willing to get disturbed.
