Voice recognition dial with iphone4s?
 

No matter what i do i can not get the car to dial by voice. I hit the button and speak and nothing happens. I tried holding it walkie talkie style and no dice either.

I think you have to be on IOS 6. I am currently running IOS 6 and it works perfect for me. If i remember ill make a video after school and post it.
And you do have to hold down the talk button.
Pushing it once will show the last number you dialed.

How did you get IOS 6? Are you a developer? It is not even out yet. Currently IOS 5.1.1 is the latest.

I saw that post, still does not work for me when holding down walkie talkie style.

Im a registered developer for apple i also fix and customized iPhones.
IOS 6 should be out on the 19th. (Tomorrow) It does get rid of the youtube app so get ready to download one from the app store!
And yes it works 100% with IOS 6! Hopefully works the same on the iPhone 5!!!

So I updated to IOS 6 and tried again. No dice. I even repaired the phone and started the setup all over again.

I hold the call button until I hear the beep and if I look at my phone I see SIRI open and have a little blutooth Icon to the right of it. If I hold the phone close enough it hears me and dials.

If not SIRI stops being purple and nothing happens.

It seems like it does not know to use the car mic instead of the phone mic. Is there a setting for that?

Well, if all else fails. Just hold down the home button on your iPhone and tell that ho what to do ;)

After looking around on other cars forums I realize it is not true voice command. All it does is activate siri. Siti needs to be able to hear you. It doesnt use the cars mic for hearing the instructions.
