Erica ***** Hehehehehehehehe. You guys are silly! When a man takes ahold of the "shifter thingy" and his veins pop out, makes my knees shake lol. Not sure a female would have the same affect on me!

Lol no preference to me if a girl can drive a stick or not.

My gf can drive a stick and knows her cars.

What I find WAY more than whether or not they can drive a stick...

Can they change their own oil?
Can they put a spare tire on?
Do they know how to change their windshield wipers?

Basic general things. Do they like cars? Or do they find them as a point A to point B tool?

My gf helped me with installing my rear sway bar. In all honesty... teaching a girl to drive stick is not hard. Having them interested in cars is a WHOLE different thing.

I'm not personally impressed by men that drive stick. I had nothing but manual cars until recently anyway, though.

my girlfriend and now wife hated me drive stick shift (16 years). she rather me to hold her hand or make phone call as needed. she also hated it she cannot take my car.
however, I will drive stick shift until my knee no longer allow me to do so, driving auto is too boring for me.

Haha speaking from a younger generation.. People now adays think paddles are manual LOL..So in terms of impressing girls.. its relatively easy, pretty much riding around with this car is enough.. But i wish mine was MT :(

Imho, I think one of the best ways to get a girl interested in cars is to have her drive an auto in an open space with cones. You gotta make it interesting to her. Taking her to a penis fested car meet will get her ultra bored. Also since most guys seem to give off this "I HAVE A PENIS I'M BETTER THAN YOU" vibe.

Open space and ask her to drive as if she wanted to have fun. Then follow up by asking.. "what if the car responded better in regards of how well you could've taken that turn. And your brakes worked super well"

I've asked and have gotten quite a few of my female friends to be interested in cars just because of how I asked questions and got them involved.

If all else fails and she still says... "I ONLY NEED TO GET TO POINT A TO POINT B" Then its a lost cause. You better go buy her some cloths. Lol

On a side note... on the way to my Uni today.. an old (mid 40s) lady driving a WRX Impreza (SPW) destroyed me in my yaris today. :l Took that 30mph corner like a baus.

This is true. Bored or annoyed.

Or take them to a driving event, even better if there are some female instructors to prove to them that this is not strictly a male hobby. Also, in my experience the XYs at driving events have a much different attitude than (many of) the ones at car meets, and actually encourage women. Some instructors even say they prefer instructing women because they don't have the ego issues that men do.

Guy I sold my JDM Supra (black Mk3, twin turbo 1jz, 5spd targa) to screwed up his back and had to switch cars with his wife. She said she never had so much penis thrown at her in her life (including clubs) when she drove it.
