We aren't really looking for any more moderators at this time. If you see a thread that needs to be moved or is inappropriate, go ahead and report the OP and we can take care of it!

Now, now, this member is been outgoing wanting to be a mod. Nothing wrong w that, so take it easy on him.
Like Guff has state, if there's some thread that need to be moved to different sub-forum report it and we'll take care of it :) We're not sure when we gonna look for another mod/s. Only our boss knows, so til then just keep on posting |
how about a category mod like darrendriven?

You don't ask, you're asked. At least that is how it has always worked on the several forums I've been staff for. I am glad to say I'm now fully retired from that role. Mods have an important job that even at the best of times can be thankless and unrewarding, and at the worst can be draining and hostile. I've seen the most passionate and caring admin suffer mentally and physically from steadfastly trying to resolve everything from minor member clashes to going out of his way in assisting with law enforcement when someone got scammed. In the end all it takes is one asshole to lie to the community and whip up the hivemind and even after damage control is done and the record is set straight in your favor, you've spent so much in time and frustration. He would never admit it but I think a largely ungrateful community caused to him sell the site. After the change of power and new management did people finally decide the site was run better back in the old days with "the admin actually cared."
Most people don't have the first clue how much discussion and work goes behind the scenes of a well run forum and how hard the staff of many good forums work to settle things and try to "make it right" even when they know it won't please everyone and ocassionally will send some jackwagon flying off the handle. I guess the thing to keep in mind is, while there are plenty of power tripping mods on the internet, most of these folks are doing what they do on their own damn free time because they like the community, and don't want to see it get wrecked by festering issues. It has a high burnout rate for a reason. Other than the friends I made with my fellow past staff members, I don't miss or envy the job. |
Be here long enough, have some common sense, be supportive, refrain from being bias, typing legibility (grammar police), be responsible, and most importantly, be respectful. Once you have these, they will come look for you if they need anymore mods.

becoming a mod requires you to go through a gauntlet of challenges...the last one was the most memorable..
