50 mph 5th gear 3k Rpm?

This doesnt seem right.. anyone else rev this high.

Yes. 6 speed. If you're gonna stick @ 50 you need to shift to 6th

_F-R-S_ 09-03-2012 07:54 PM

if i do it gives me this kinda to high of a gear noise..lol

Not surprised. 5th is 1:1, like 4th is in a normal 5spd g/box.

You need to get used to high rev engine. 3000 RPM is the lowest I would use for normal driving in this car. Everything below it is almost unusable. In my previous car (RX-8) it was 4000 RPM, but I could spin it up to 9000, so had enough useful range left.

Yep ours is 3k at 70 mph

Our old tc was the same way

Nature of the beast. Is there any reason in particular it bothers you (i.e. do you find it noisy, or?)

_F-R-S_ 09-04-2012 07:32 AM

Yea its loud.. But doesnt bother me.. just seems like its ready to shift lol

LOL. If it sounds like it's ready to shift, why not help it out and put it into 6th?
