I expecting this thread to grow after SEMA so I'll need all your help adding turbo kits to the list. :party0030:

Any chance of a kit that wont void the warranty? Lol

nonicname 11-30-2012 01:06 AM

TRD is making a SC but no turbo.

jshadeck 11-30-2012 01:11 PM

Right. My dealer mentioned that if they do the install, and if they feel enough test/tune/research has been done by the company, that they can keep my warranty in tact. AVO seems to be the best bet so far, anyone know if my dealer is "tricking" me into voiding the warranty, or if they can actually "sign off" on kits like that?

dealers NEVER know what the HECK they are talking about.
I wouldn't trust anything they say.
I wouldn't expect ANY FI kit to retain your warranty. unless Subaru/Toyota says so.

Thats what i thought. Unless he offers to put something in writing.

Does anyone have a FI kit on their car and have run a 1/4?
I know how to calculate the hp/weight to figure out what it should be running with the turbo kit on. But I am not going to invest the money in the kit unless I know that I will be able to get out of it what I want to wise before I get it.

yeah I'm sure this car can row 11s but that engine will probably only last a few runs. a mustang can run 11s and that engine will last forever. plus you can probably do that with $2,000 worth of mods.

if you are buying a low power handling car for drag racing you have the wrong idea.

Apparently you have not seen or read about Accelerated Performance car? Or Dynosty's, or Full Blown? They have all survived more than "a few runs".

Also, I don't get the whole "drag racing is the wrong idea".... It's his money, he can do with it whatever he wants. If he wants to get an 86 and turn it into a drag racing monster... So be it! There is no right or wrong in it....
