Running 19's
 

Rather than ask in various threads I was wondering for you guys running 19's on your FR-S have you noticed any issues as far as the speedometer being off by allot? Also how about stopping distances with the stock brakes? Are they able to handle the new wheels inertia.

I'm looking at some for my FR-S but I'm torn between 18's & 19's

19s may look good but must be slow as heck

Your speedo will be way off depending on the size of tire. Anywhere from a slight discrepancy (+0.87mph at 70mph on 215/35-19) to a large difference (+6.86 at 70mph on 255/40-19).

The size of the wheel does not effect your speedometer, it's the overall diameter of the tire. A 235/30-19 is nearly exactly the same as stock. A 245/30-19 is only 0.5mph faster. But the tough part is finding tires in the right sizes. A 225/35-19 is only 1.4mph faster and there's more tire choices.

Thanks for the input guys, i'm taking many things into consideration while making my decision for the right tire wheel combo.

I chose 18's because I did not want to hurt the performance as much as the 19's do. I think lightweight 18's with proper sized tires should only minimally affect the performance and should not affect the spedo.

Does anyone know if the 235/30/19 will fit on a 19x8.5 five axis wheel and not rub with the eibach sportline springs?

Simple. It's 19s for the streets, 17s and 18s for the track. You will have a bit more harsher ride on the 19s than the smaller diameter sized wheels.

What about 235/35/19??
