USB music issue
Couldn't find anything on this using :search: so thought I'd ask.
I think the Kiwi stereo is the same as the one in the Oz GTS so hopefully you guys can help. The problem I have is the stereo defaulting back to the first track in the first folder of a usb stick after the car is turned off (or just the stereo for that matter). More detail: I think the quality of the bluetooth audio streaming isn't up to it so I have copied playlists into separate folders for myself, my wife and my two kids along with a combined playlist for all of us onto one usb stick in MP3 format. Works well except after turning the car off it seems to default back to the first track of the first folder (my son Ben's list). Now I can change it so my folder is the first one and it will probably default to the first track in my folder but if I'm half way through it's a pain to scroll through all of the songs to get to the one I'm up to. Anyone found a work around for this or am I missing something? |
not sure how to remedy that issue. But my USB mp3s are working fine. this is how i have my usb mp3s set up
Code:
Root (start of usb) |

Does yours default back to artist 1, track 1 or does it stay where you were up to after turning the stereo off? |
mine stays on where i'm up to
|
Funnily enough, I remember having that problem at least once... But all million other times, the track resumes exactly where I turned it off.

The really annoying thing is the audio fading out (like a filter over highs and lows) when you turn the volume down a bit while the nav is talking... It seems to stay filtered for a looong time until you turn the volume knob again after a while...
Is this happening to anyone else? Its starting to annoy me when in traffic. Sorry for threadjacking :T |
mine stays where is left off .....however i have another problem....
when it goes from track 1 to track 2 i get one of three scenarios: 1. it moves to the next song fine 2. it does a read index thing .... 3. it stops all together..... any ideas ? |

Can I just check if your Oz head unit is the same as our Kiwi one.
My manual says Toyota part no. PZQ60-00511, PZQ60-00512 and PZQ60-00513 - not sure which mine is but it'll be one of those. And this is a picture of it if one of you, that is not having the problems with the USB starting from the beginning, can please let me know if your headunits are the same or not. Thanks in advance. |

http://www.toyota.com.au/static/imag...on-940x529.jpg (off topic) Just want to add that the GPS is so slow! Example, when you're making the left turn or just made the left turn, the GPS will go "turn Left on to blah blah road". I'm like "wtf? I already did that..." |
I think your GTS unit looks like the touchscreen that is now in the new Highlander etc over here that I was quoted $2,700 plus GST to upgrade to (excl GPS, GST and installation!).
Any GT owners in Oz that can see if your head unit is the same as ours in kiwi-land and if it is do you have the same USB going to the first track after power off? |
+1 for the ASCII diagram.
