"random" folder or songs on the head unit sucks sooooo bad, i'm constantly hearing the same set of songs over and over

I doubt the firmware of the radio itself would need to be updated.

Since BeSpoke primarily relies on a phone for most of its features, it's likely that the phone app does most of the work, and I imagine that the reverse control of the phone (by using the stereos buttons) would already be supported since it's just a USB connection.

However, if the radio does require an update, a new unit would not be needed as the physical unit only provides generic input capabilities (the buttons, etc.). There would merely be a firmware update that would be capable through the USB port.
