Drop Springs rather than Coil Overs???

Does/has anyone tried the Tein H/S Tech drop springs on their FR-S yet??? I am not looking to sink the money into the car for Coil overs. Its my daily driver and I just want it dropped a little, but I still want it to feel good in the turns.

I like the drop the S-tech should give the car, but I am concerned with the stiffer spring rate making the car ride way too rough, and I do not plan to put any Super Crazy sticky tires on the car. I travel about 100 miles a day for work.

I have had a H-Tech's on both my previous G35 Coupes but they were 350z H-tech so it was more of a drop than the G35 H-techs.

Anyone try them yet that can chime in on their thoughts/feelings????

I have H Tech's that will be here tomorrow, there is a review of the S Tech that said they were borderline uncomfortable.

I have s-techs and the ride is fine, yes a little stiffer but nothing that makes the ride "border line uncomfortable " where I live the streets aren't bad but I've driven to bad areas to test these springs out, when I tested them out I drove the car hard. I drove fast over bumps to see how they would perform. They reformed just fine, didn't feel the suspension" bottoming out" or anything.

I have RCE Yellows installed, and it ride comfort is pretty much the same for me.

Ride is one of those things that is purely subjective from person to person. Personally I don't like the Tein springs, but that's me.

I have yet to install a set on our FRS and test but past experiences on other platforms don't give me a lot of hope here either.

So what would you recommend for a drop spring that would be in the neighborhood of a 1" drop but still have a decent ride?

Personally I loved the Tein's on my G35. I had them on my 06 TL, but I was just not impressed at all with the TL no matter what I did to it, so after 3 months I traded it off.

I got the H Techs because i got a great deal on them, others to consider would be Eibach Pro Kit, Hotchkis, RaceComp Yellows.
