First Reported Toyota 86 Crash in South Africa

Hi all.

I don't have any details about the events that led to this. What I do know is the car is from Durban, here in South Africa.

This allegedly happened last week.

So sad, and it had the TRD kit...:brokenheart:

i always wonder how people hit poles straight on...

These people are hired by other car companies to ruin its reputation, increase insurance cost and discourage people from buying it.

Sad but true.

FYI, there are only 3 models available in SA:

Std spec MT @ US$ 34,600
High spec MT @ US$ 37,700
High spec AT @ US$ 40,300

The TRD kit including quad pipes but excl the BBK (not on thw options list) is approximately US$ 3,500.

This is not an affordable car for us here in sunny SA, but we already have an 8 month waiting list.

I guess a Darwin award will be going out to someone who lives in the (disputed) cradle of humanity!

Where are the TRD flame throwers?

I would not pay 35K for this car... that's 3-series price range.

Are those red caps on the rims?

wat?

PREDATOR786 08-30-2012 10:37 AM

@ Jarvis. The VW Scirocco and Golf 6 GTi are similarly priced here in SA.

Those are red inserts on the wheels. Its a cheap aftemarket wheel made by "A-Line".

The 5x100 pcd means we have limited options for aftermarket wheels for the 86, unless we import.

lol, why do people always assume that relative pricing ONLY applies for FR-S/BRZ? It's like when we post the price we pay in Canada, people say what they would have bought for the same money in the US. DOES NOT COMPUTE.

:bellyroll:
