Taillight Side Reflector question

1 Attachment(s)
I've noticed that the side reflector in our taillights are clear compared to the USDM brz/86 (see images).

Does anyone know if I'll need to replace the taillight completely or just this reflector bit? And can anyone provide the part number for this?

Also, are there any legal issues / road safety issues related to replacing this item with the red counterpart?

north america law requires side markers to be red in the rear

unfortunately the reflector is not a separate piece. that means you need to replace the whole tail lights if you want to change them

Yup! what above post said, you'll have to replace the entire tail light housing not just the reflector. I'm thinking about getting black reflector, later on. Tail lights are so pricey.

Why not trade it with a member that lives in North America? I'm sure someone (JDM convert) would want a "clear" version of it in exchange!

Of course, unless you're willing to empty out your wallet for the crazy "priority" shipping... :confused0068:

But hey, some people have their cars in Toyota's bay for that CEL fix, it's not going to be on the road any time soon anyways right?
