TSB's & issues thread
Just like it states in the title. Let's start a thread, and possibly a sticky, with all TSB's and issues. Personally, I'd like a thread like this so the next time I take the car in I can get everyone done in one visit. I'll start...
1. Known issue: motor chirping (no TSB as present time) 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. |
Known Issue: CEL/SL/Idle Hunting and Stalling

SUBARU Service Bulletin: 02-132-12 Issued 8/21/12
So what does this bulletin say???????????? Found it by Googling it. It's in the Subaru BRZ forum site. It's 6 pages, shows how to diagnose (flow chart), and looks like it is also effecting the 2012 Impreza with the FB engine. "AVCS Slow Response" Codes P000A, P000B, P000C and P000D along with "AVCS System Failure" Codes P0011, P0014, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021 and P0024. One thing I found amusing was that it says: "It is important to remind customers who perform their own maintenance or have it done elsewhere the importance of following the Owners Manual recommendation for proper oil viscosity, API specification and service interval". Like did the people who had problems stop on the side of the road on the way home and change their oil and that caused the problem??? |
Well, this should make you scratch your head and wonder what the heck is going on. I called Subaru on Monday to check on my delivery date (which was Monday) and then as I was talking to the guy and I asked him if he knew what Subaru or Toyota was doing about the cam sprocket/VVT/CEL problems and he said he hadn't heard about it. Then I gave him the TSB number above and he says that TSB number is not in the system.
Do TSB's go away? disappear? go to area 51? or what? I have a copy of it printed out, 4 pages, so it must (have) existed. Do manufacturers retract TSB's? Just plain strange......:iono: |
The TSB was recalled according to a post on another forum from someone at a dealership. They said that an updated TSB would be coming out soon with a fix.
