He could possible build a 'Kei' car but then again who'd buy it?

Honestly, if you can create or offer a service/good that is renewable you'll become a millionaire in no time or file a patent that numerous companies can use.

The person who invented & patent toilet paper was a genius cause as a consumer you GOTTA keep buying it & buying it.

If it were possible.

What is your cost/profit breakdown on this $15k car?

Well, it would take that much money for the first step of production. When I say "first step of production", i mean the building of the first prototype. Because I could make some designs on CAD for an Tube Frame and take those designs to a Machinist who would build the frame. I don't how much that would be, but I'm assuming 2.5k-6k depending on how much materials are being used. Along with the basic Frame machining I could potentially ask for the suspension system to be included from the Control arms to steering links, excluding the shock absorbers.

Due to it only being a Prototype vehicle, I wouldn't need fresh from the factory parts, in hence I could use Donor Transaxle Engines, Shocks, Brakes and other Donor Car parts.

The most expensive step would most likely be the production of the Fiberglass Bodywork. CAD Automated Bodywork is big money, but I don't see any other way to make the bodywork. :iono:

Remind you, this is before anyone even knows about the product. So I'm not going to account for federalization, manufacturing cost, or anything other affiliated with consumer production.

Testing the vehicle on tracks, braking test, endurance test, crash test, and etc is also a big expense. When I'm doing those test, I would use the actual parts that would be used if as if was on the market for consumer purchase.

From those first developmental stages it would just be Trade Shows, Advertisement, Sponsorship, and building more Capital and talking to more and more investors.

Investors are key, if I could show them that people want this product they'll give me money. :eyebulge:

That money would be used for federalization, manufacturing, materials, worker wages, contracts, MORE and MORE advertising, and mortgages.

I don't want a Kei car phile, just something similar to this. Before you guys stab at me and told me I stole an idea, I was thinking of an open fender roofed car similar to the Ariel Atom long before I even seen this image.

One day I just typed "Ariel Atom with roof" into Google images and the Donto p1 came up. Haha, the car has been a concept since 2009, and they showed 1 video of the frame back in 2010, but since then their has been no updates. :iono:
