Back to the Track! 10/22 ORP

No idea why "saturday" is in the title of the event because it's actually a monday. I'm already registered and I had a crazy good time with my (stock) FR-S out there earlier this month. I'm hoping this one won't be as hot as the 105 degree day at the start of August.

Anybody want to come?

I don't have anything planned that day... what happens if the weather is bad? Rain?

Fuzzysmith 08-28-2012 03:57 PM

Considering it's the high desert...that would be strange. But I would guess we'd have drifting practice at that point...and a lot more track time.

In all seriousness, I just emailed them and asked. We'll find out soon enough.

OK, if there is a refund for inclement weather then I am in.

I also contacted them about bringing my young cousin Travis, to see if he can share seat time in my FR-S.

They run rain or shine.

Hmmm... I can slide around in the rain for free... I want dry track time. Looks like the almanac is on our side, though.

Waiting to hear back about two people sharing one car for the day.

You may be able to slide around in the rain for free...but on this track, aside from turn 17...there is nothing to hit. That can be handy.

After living in Seattle for 11 years I've just come to accept that if I'm not willing to play in the rain, I'm not really willing to play at all.

If I was going to do a track day in the wet at any track in the PacNW it'd be ORP. Other than the wall after the Continental corner there is literally nothing to hit.

Ugh, can't take my 15-year-old cousin because he only has his permit and not his license. Hmmm... I dunno, I am going to have to ponder this one. I've been spending some serious cash on one-day events lately.

Fuzzysmith 08-30-2012 06:09 PM

Would be nice to see a bunch of FR-Ss hit the track at the same time though...
