Here's my recommend 3 step process:
1: Read this article: http://www.joegibbsracingoil.com/tra...h/filters.html 2: Buy these high-quality inexpensive filter: PL14460 ($5.76) [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Purolator-PL14460-PureONE-Filter-Pack/dp/B000E8P78I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346371606&sr=8-1&keywords=PL14460"]Amazon.com: Purolator PL14460 PureONE Oil Filter, Pack of 1: Automotive[/ame] 3: Change oil filter often (because it's easy), about every 2-2.5k miles. Change oil every 5k miles. |

This isn't to say the same company can spend some more dollars and offer something even better. |
Do these versions have the same bypass pressure? Subaru has a specific spec which is higher than most. I'm going to stick with my Subaru black Tokyo Rokis and a filter mag.
The only change I might consider is to a Canton cartridge filter.. |

Oil every 5, filter every 2.5. Oil every 3 in the summer when I'm at the track instructing or playing. |
I believe those PL14460 filters don't have an anti-drainback valve.
