Look for anyone that has the afe intake as they are one and the same.

jumbaco 08-27-2012 03:11 PM

does it use those horrible foam filters like the other Greddy intakes? I can't tell from the pictures.

No foam filter. This intake is the same as the AFE intake. They have not been released yet...

The Greedy only comes with a dry filter. The Takeda comes optional with paper or oiled filter.

Edited to correct not paper filter, just dry.

The bogging issue seems to be tune related not so much intake related since people with a tune and no intake have had the same issue. Also, the dry flow filter isn't paper, it's layered synthetic fabric/mesh that can be cleaned with just soap and water and reused (just without using oil like the K&N filters).

People without a tune have had the issue as well. I think it has to do with the air straightener thats in the factory air box but missing in the aftermarket intakes.

They have different MAF sensor placement so I would say they are definitely not exactly the same.

*Correction* I was thinking the Airraid intake

Calidrifter 08-27-2012 05:52 PM

Hadn't noticed that.

The photos of those AFE intakes were taken before the final designs were completed. So they may be the same (which I believe will happen) or not.
