I don't know if I can wait on the 86!!

I'm seriously considering picking up a new Mustang V6, it's relatively light (compared to the camaro/challenger), and I would do some more weight reduction anyway. It has some decent power, and handles beautifully!

The reason I'm considering the switch is I honestly can't stand my current Mustang any longer, it has a horrible motor, no LSD, and probably my least favorite feature... an automatic.

I WANT to wait for the 86, but I don't really enjoy driving my car anymore now that I've learned stick, and the new V6 Mustang is a very nice performer..

I was ready to trade in for one when they launched but I just didn't dig it enough to pull the trigger. I was looking at a V6 base with performance package but didn't really care for the interior materials or the steering. It did have some power and decent handling, but I just didn't get the impression that it was a "step up." Felt the same when I tested the Genesis Coupe.

Only cars that really put a smile on my face were the Mazdaspeed 3 and the WRX. I was about to grab the WRX when more info on the FT-86 started coming out and I decided to wait it out and see.

Can't really advise on what you should do because we don't have confirmed specs on the 86. I'm only fairly sure that the Mustang and 86 will be completely different beasts on the road. But hey, if you wait for the 86 and it turns out you don't like it, you'll have that much more saved for the Mustang, and maybe they'll have ironed out some of the issues with it by then.

Im going to drive a Mustang GT and a FR-S on the same day and see which i like better i already have decided for the most part and i want the FR-S ive always wanted a supra but wasnt able to drive when they were big soooo i figure ill pickup the next big tuner car

Have you test driven the new Mustang yet? A couple of times? Mustangs are great cars but I know I could never live with one as a daily driver but your case might be different since you've owned a previous one.

Have you thought about leasing one? Ford does 2 year leases and by that time the FR-S will be established and the 2014 Mustang will be just around the corner.

New mustang has massive blind spots and for those who want auto... and suddenly want to drive a manual will not have the option to use paddle shifters either.

Got to drive and sit in my friend's 2011 mustang and tbh it feels weird. Seats are super buckety! lol

And after seeing all the 2010 MT stang' models I'm skeptical whether or not the later versions will have those problems as well.

I've driven the new ones several times both the v8 and v6, auto and manual, and the visibility is just like my 05, which I have no problems with.

You've already waited this long and now going to jump ship?! Maybe you should wait till you see the debut in Japan first. I don't see how going from a shitty Mustang AT to a mediocre Mustang V6 will fill the void.

Hey, as i see it, Mustang V6's are only getting cheaper and aren't going anywhere, so chill, see what the FT has to offer, and if you-no-like, then you could always go to the Ford :happy0180:

that mediocre mustang is a lot faster than a lot of cars i wouldnt call mediocre. i bet if that wasnt a mustang there would be a lot more people in favor of the thing

I've never been a Mustang fan, never been an American Muscle fan either tbh, but the new Mustang is definitely a nice performance car. I'd still never own one, mostly because of the interior. It leaves MUCH to be desired, the overall interior look isn't bad, but you can just feel the cheapness of it. You definitely get what you pay for with the V6, which isn't a bad thing. For the money, you can't really do better performance wise. However, I'd trade performance for creature comfort quality. I can add performance, not redesigning the interior.

The sheer number of them on the road turns me off to the idea of owning one also. If I was just buying a grocery getter, that would be different, but not when it's my sexy sports car.

Get an S2000, lightweight, rwd.. it obviously won't be brand new but it's a lot of fun to drive!

Never really been a fan of the S2k... I hate convertibles. lol

It's ok, it's not for everyone, they do make really impressive hard tops! :-)

This! :word: This is why I call it mediocre.
