redline

I was pulling out into traffic and didn't see that i pulled infront of someone so I had to redline to get out of the way. I only have 345 miles. After slowing down to pull into my apartment i smelled a burning smell anyone know what it is? As of now my check engine light is still off and theres no clinking or anything under the engine. :( Im just worried

Could have been the clutch if it was slipped at high rpm, or the exhaust. A new car or bike will still have some residue on the exhaust from manufacturing that gets burned off when the exhaust gets really hot.

It may also have been brake pads if you had to slow down really hard.

Could you describe what it smelled like, was it metallic, sweet, stinky, electrical-ish, etc?

Dont be worried there is a suggested break in period that says if in an emergency you can bring it over 4000rpm i hit redline a few times before 1000 miles

well after i red lined i shifted to 2nd- Didn't slow down hard or anything. the smell was a kinda sweet smell. The smell was coming threw the vents the windows were up. So Im guessing the exhaust or something in the engine bay.

the only think i have a problem with the car is. it has an idle problem sometimes it drops down to 500rpms and jumps up to about 1000rpms because iv read on here mostly everyone is having a idle problem.
