Gas Gauge Issue

I recently had to drop off my FR-S at the Toyota dealership because of an issue with my gas gauge. When i was at the gas station and filled the tank up I realized that the gas gauge wasn't moving. I thought it was just the pump i was at and went to another one. I tried filling it up at that one and the pump stopped at 46 cents. Then i knew that something was wrong with the gas gauge. This is so disheartening...
:sigh:

I'm assuming you mean the gas gauge on the pump and it is clicking off and not allowing you to fill the tank up?

I had this issue at my first fill up. The pump would keep clicking off and I had to keep re-trying. As I remember it was an old gas pump and the spout did not fit to well with the angle of the car's fill port. This only happened that 1 time and I never had another issue at any of the other gas stations I've been to.

I've had the same problem twice now. When I fill the car, the gas gauge on mine goes to just under full, then falls to about 3/4. If I then let it run down to under 1/2 before re-filling, it will work fine again. I have reported this to my dealer, but I'm not in a big rush to take the car in over it. If it gets any worse or stops working altogether, then I'll get it looked at.

Bringing this thread back from the dead, but I figure that's better than posting and being told to search, right?

I put ten dollars in my car yesterday and the gauge didn't budge. It continued to drop as it would have from where it was, then today, I put thirty dollars in. From where the gauge was reading (My light was on), I should have needed WAY more than thirty to fill up. Still, twenty-eight dollars had me full.

The gauge didn't move at all for the first twenty-five of it, then it snapped up. I've been thinking it wasn't reading right, so I think I WILL bring the car in for this.

Yeah so this just started happening to me yesterday. I like to keep my tank full so last night after driving to and from work I tried to fill it up, it took around the correct amount yet it still shows 3/4 full. I tried it again today and it still shows 3/4 full even though I filled it completely up. Looks like I'm going to have to get the dealer involved. :(

Seeing as it's a hybrid, you are correct!

Is this an actual issue though? As far as I know ever FR-S/BRZ does this. I don't worry about it because the gauge works where it needs to work...

I noticed if you fill it up more after it clicks, """sometimes""" the gauge wont go to "full" but be like 1/8 from full. When you drive around it wont move down until you are actually under 1/8 full. It happened to me about 2-3 times and now I just stop after the first click. I usually let it click 2 times just to make sure but not anymore. The first time it happened it was actually at the full mark and the next day (I park on a upward slope with the car facing up) I started up my car it was at the 1/8 mark and I thought someone took my car for a joyride and brought it back lol. If this is what you are referring to then I guess it is because you filled it up too much. (I am not 100% sure this is why but it seemed to only happen if I keep filling the tank after the first click)
