A couple of Mods & Sound Upgrade
I ordered the OEM Audio upgrade within a week of getting the car because I was pretty unhappy with how it sounded. It took about a month to get it (definitely worth the wait) and it was finally installed yesterday. It made a huge difference and I'm happy with it now! :D The kit comes with replacement tweeters (I took a pic of the ones that came out in case anyone was curious).
Also, I bought the red stitched boot and leather brake handle. Thanks to @Hanakuso 's post in the DIY section it was a pretty easy swap! http://www.photogurl.com/other/install1.jpg http://www.photogurl.com/other/install2.jpg http://www.photogurl.com/other/install3.jpg http://www.photogurl.com/other/install4.jpg |
looks good! rate 1 to 10 on the better sound u have? and were did u get them from

Thanks! It made a 100% difference so I guess I would say 10. I was hoping it would make a noticeable difference (I knew it would have more base) but without changing the other speakers or the HU, I wasn't expecting a whole lot. It really exceeded my expectations though.
I ordered the sub kit from toyota parts outlet. When I ordered it, it was $875 (retail $1,099), but now I think they're selling it for $100 more. The boot, brake handle and trunk liner came from subaru parts online. |
What did the audio upgrade kit come with?
Interior looks great by the way...seats and the shifter boot make a huge difference... |

How complicated is the OEM Audio upgrade kit to install?
|
We didn't install the audio upgrade ourselves. It came with an installation booklet and a wiring harness that's supposed to be plug n play. The booklet said it takes 2 hours. My dealer charged $110 to do it.

How much did you pay for your seats?

They were $1,400 and they're Katzkin brand. |
how are the katzkins, those look like the same color I would want....had a set in my wife's old car and they were so soft yet durable

are you concerned at all with the placement of the sub? i always hated putting a sub on one side of the car with the belief it may throw off the balance of the car.
