I searched the diy section and found a thread that describes how to disable the drl by unhooking a resistor that is under the bumper on the passenger side. simply unhook the plug. it took me 10 minutes.

I've had my DRLs disabled by the dealer and want to turn them back on. Is this a dealer only thing or can I do it?

Look into an app called Carista. Other than that I recommend visiting the dealer.

Pull the passenger side resistor box. Takes 5 minutes.

This^

There is an access panel under the passenger side front bumper, pop the cover off and reach up. There's a metal resistor (feels like a bit metal box) and disconnect the plug attached to it. Should take only a few minutes to do.
