confused about car registration fees in NSW
 

hey guys, for those who have the breakdown of the costs of your car, how much was the "private registration fee"? Mine was $459...

I am wondering whether there are additional costs for private registration fee in NSW? for example like taxes?? i have just got my car Rego today (yes i have got my car for 1.5 weeks now:D), and on it it says the tare weight for 86 is "1179" - meaning the cost should only be $323 as it falls within the threshold of 1155kg to 1504kg

it notes that the private registration fee is based on the "Tare weight"?


btw - i know nothing about car registrations as this is the first brand new car for myself:D and i fully trust my dealer, but at the end of the day, i would like to know the truth thou...thanks alot! :thanks:

Do you have black on white plates?

It's possible there was an extra charge for them!

yea i had premium plates, but in a separate breakdown in the receipt amounting to $99 so it cannot be...further i have a $20 buck document fee listed separately (which is charged by RTA i believe -saw this in the above website)

Hi mate, Private Registration for an 86 in NSW at this time is $323.00 and Business Registration is $474.00. Premium Plates are $99.00 and the Standard Black and Yellow are $40.00.
