Is there a list of people that HAVE had this issue resolved with information on what needed to be replaced? Just talked to the dealer that my car is at and was told that they ordered a cam gear but it is on back order with no ETA. What a headache...

You can read my posts in this thread. Pics and details. Almost 3000 miles since fix.

Does anyone notice loss of power/throttle response when the CEL/TRAC light is on? I think I may have read it earlier in this thread but want to know what others are experiencing..

I'm driving with the CEL/TRAC light on until Subaru comes out with an official TSB...

Read my part of the thread I refer to the "safe mode" and driving on it. All though there has been a dyno done. But I think each car a cuts different. Mine was clearly ha lf powered.

Yes mine turned into a hog. I'd be lucky to get it up to 4500 rpm when in gear. It sucked big time.

Eh, not looking forward to this. Picked up my car 2 weeks and I'm 600 miles into it. Anyone know if this would impact auto's vs. manuals differently? I'm driving an auto BRZ limited.

Dear god, i've driven my car for about 100km which is about 62miles i guess?
Today when i parked the car after a drive, sitting in the car, the idle starts do drop and jumps up and down between 400rpm and 700rpm and car keeps shaking, after like 7-8 second the engine light starts to flash....:mad0259:

I restarted the car and idle was fine again. Is this just the begining?

Toyota on monday it is then, it's still fine to drive the car? I refuse to let it sit on my parking lot the whole weekend:confused0068:

That's pretty much how it started for me.

Please keep us up to date, I would like to see more responses from Europe and Asia as well as Canada/USA.

~1843 miles
Manual Transmission
VIN: 7042XX

I was told error code 0019 and that my VVTI gear was bad and need to be replaced. Part is on order I am being told I am fine to drive my car till the part comes in by the dealership just waiting to hear from the rep who is making sure they put in a ticket with Corp. and letting me know if I should drive the vehicle.

Hi OP,

Just want to report that car is in shop for the running list to be updated.

Z06tofrs 09-07-2012 04:59 PM

Another update. They ordered 2 cam gears and new oil control valves. Plus special coolant. They are telling me parts are back ordered so may take a week to get them in.

They saying the problem is the cam gears are not disengaging or something like that. Exactly what the Toyota rep said on my voice mail. So basically puts me out another week. Best part they just sent me my first payment last week. I noticed they dont mess that part up.

Glad to see you got some compensation for your aggravation. I asked my Scion agent about extended warranty and payment reinbursement, he said we`ll talk about that after repair is complete. Was told some of my parts are in and shooting for next Friday. Will keep all updated.
