Lotus jumps on the nostalgia train for 10 buyers with deep pockets.

https://f.evomagazine.pl/evo_prod_20...147b4e6a3.jpeg This is not a replica! It’s not even an expensive imitation. This is a reimagining of the concepts based on ruff drawings of a never built Can-Am race car. This version was conceived, designed and being built by the Lotus Advanced Performance division leveraging cutting-edge technology to create a new and unique car. (Lotus hype) It’s a real shame that they didn’t keep to the vintage era that this car was conceived in. I wish they had based it around a period designed all alloy monocoque chassis with steel reinforced safety bracing and an integral roll hoop. It should be powered by a period 7 litre alloy Chevy V8 and mated to a five speed Hewland. Brakes and suspension should all be period designs too. I wish Classic Team Lotus had kept it in house. At least then it might have been able to appear a Vintage Race meets. As it is, it’s all carbon fiber, paddle shift, antilock brakes, computer designed alloy and whatever chassis modern nonsense. Powered by a 350 cu in something. https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/type-66 |
