How to Identify if Engine is The Original to the Car/Chassis

Recently purchased another 2013 FR-S, and I'm trying to determine if it is the original engine that the car was manufactured/delivered with.

The VIN of the car does not have any numbers that correspond to the ID numbers on the engine cases. I check our other car that I believe does have the Original engine,.......and the numbers don't have any simalarity to its VIN.

Is there a difinative way to determine if an engine is an original unit? Possibly a production date that would at least give a "ball park" of whether or not it could/could not be the original engine?

Unfortunately, no VIN stamp on the block.the only way to know for sure what the year range is, would be something like the coil pack harness (indicating 2015 and newer) and if a manual car, 2017+ has the red intake manifold.

Honestly the easiest way to tell is seeing if the engine mounts, subframe, or other things are scuffed up from a hasty swap
