NWB wiper blades

Does anyone know where to get NWB - Nippon Wiper Blades of Japan wiper inserts in the US?https://www.nwb.co.jp/product_e/img/design/design_S.png

Vivid racing seemed to carry them, but now out of stock. Maybe reach out to their support and see if you can get a lead

The picture is of a complete blade, not an insert.

Denso sells this style of blade, packaged as their "Denso Designer" line of blades. Part numbers 160-3122 and 160-3120, available on Amazon among other places. AFAIK the Denso product is actually made by NWB, but it's literally been 15 years since I came to that conclusion, so things may have changed but unlikely.

Inserts are a little harder to track down, but are available via Toyota.

1st gen part numbers:

SU003-04215, SU003-04216 for just the rubber
(there are also multiple Toyota 85214-xxxx part numbers that are interchangeable)

SU003-04213, US003-04214 are the rubber together with their metal spines, for the same price as rubber alone!

2nd gen has new part numbers. I haven't looked into whether they're compatible, but suspect they are, in which case it's an open question why the new part number.

At one point, I also determined Honda part 76632-SHJ-A11 is likely usable for our driver's side, but I haven't bought one to confirm.

I am busy this weekend. If I get time, I will swing by my local Toyota dealer and see if they stock these. With the part numbers, I should be able to source them on the net if they don't. In person, I can test fit or at least eye them.

They look just like a Bosch, available at every auto store everywhere, and probably better.

I went to my local Toyota dealer with the part numbers listed above, and they do not stock these parts. They don't stock any wiper blade inserts because they cost as much as the entire arm.
I then went to Auto Zone, O'Reilly, and NAPA stores. They all told me that they do not stock wiper inserts.
My current plan is to see if I can find NWB wiper inserts. If that does not work, I will attempt to buy the entire wiper arm listed above from a Toyota dealer. Lastly, I'll try to buy a quality wiper insert that closely matches the NWB inserts.

Web dealer prices for inserts are on the order of $8, while complete blades are on the order of $30. It's more profitable for the dealer to sell you the whole blade rather than just the insert.

Stores like Autozone et al generally don't deal with inserts because the general public can't be trusted to determine the appropriate wiper insert to fit whatever particular wiper blade they may have. The odds of an insert not being the appropriate piece and getting returned are too high to be worth bothering with.

With dealerships where they can at least limit themselves to their own OEM wipers, it's somewhat better, so for the most part, they're the only place I've found inserts in person. However, Toyota dealers stopped stocking inserts about 15 years ago (seemingly at the behest of Toyota Motor North America). They're still available to order just the same as any other part they don't stock. I haven't had any trouble getting them when ordering together with other things.

If you buy complete blades at the dealership, it's very possible they will sell you Toyota-branded aftermarket blades (Sightline) that are not what originally came on the car, and worse, do not have replacement rubber available.

You can try asking the dealer for these part numbers instead:
85214-04030 and 85214-0E140
85214-53090 and 85214-0T040

The 53090 and 0T040 are what I received when I ordered online with the SU003 numbers. The other pair of numbers are from a different source, but I recognize the 0E140 from previous research.

These are from other Toyotas with equivalent wiper blades whose parts chains do not go through Subaru. If the dealership wanted to, they would have been able to find these part numbers by cross-reference, though they probably need to special order these just the same as with the SU003 part numbers from before. Easier to just send you away empty handed instead.

I have silicone inserts from AliExpress which fit. They come in your choice of stoplight colours (red, yellow, green) and the pair of red inserts I got have worked reasonably well for the last two years for me. Not a fan of the colours (I wish they came in black) and the colour isn't UV stable and has faded, but they clear the glass well, and give a bit of the Rain-X effect with the silicone film the leave on the glass. You can try your luck with the 20 and 22 inch inserts at:

I ordered these parts from a Toyota dealer. I wanted to share a picture of the wiper assemblies and what comes with each part number.
SU003-04213 and SU003-04214 described as 'RUBBER UNI' are the wiper rubber blade and the pair of metal guides.
You will have to "assemble" them or insert the metal guides into the rubber blades.
SU003-42015 and SU003-42216 described as 'RUBBER SINGLE' are just the rubber wiper blades.

I could not find these part numbers on Subaru dealer part sites.
