ABS Module

I took the car to dealership to diagnose the infamous ABS/Traction control light. The mechanic said it threw
The code C1246, ABS Module.

How often or prone to be defective the ABS Module (SU00305757)?

Not that often as far as I know...have you considered just buying a completed, used abs unit from a newer vehicle that has the updated abs control module for track mode?

Yes, I could buy a used module (junkyard?), but wonder what year and if i need to reprogram the system.

It's pretty much plug and play. First, you need to get a module from a car with the same transmission as you have. Also, if you get a module from a facelift car you'll need to swap a few pins.

Lots of details, part numbers, etc. in this thread:

If I manage to get the module pre-facelift, same transmission...
