New Headunit Questions

I’ll start off with saying I’m very basic in my understanding of audio and wiring. That’ll be pretty apparent in this post, and the reason why my couple days of researching hasn’t resulted in the answer I’m looking for.
I have a 2013 BRZ that I installed the OEM audio plus system in back in like 2017. It’s an older version of theirs (I know they have newer ones now) that included tweeters, front speakers, a sub, and an amp (no rear speakers). I currently have the factory brz limited radio but it’s crapping out on me. I’m looking to replace with the Pioneer DMH-W3050NEX.
As stated I suck at wiring so I just planned to buy this and the install kit from crutchfield to make it as plug and play as possible. However, it suggests the idatalink maestro RR to “retain steering wheel controls and factory amp”. I don’t have steering wheel controls but the second part concerned me that id need it to retain the OEM audio plus amp. A lot of what I’m reading says I wouldn’t need it but can’t figure it out.

Install kit is $276 so just don’t want to pull the trigger if a lot is unnecessary. Worth mentioning I have an aftermarket backup cam too I’d need to retain.

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, hopefully someone here does.

If anything, give Crutchfield a call or chat. They are really helpful and knowledgeable.

GL!

Thanks for the suggestion! Talked to them for a while and they customized an install kit for me. Comes next week so we’ll see how it goes!
