4A-GE / for AE86 being redone by Gazoo Racing.
Is there really a market for this ?
Back in '88-89 I had been looking to get the Rolla hatchi with the twin cam but got the CiViC SI instead because it was cheaper, I always kicked myself for not listening to my lust I had for that car. It would have been all rusted out by now anyhow... For those Takumi's who still Roll-a AE86 here's just for you : https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a6...rolla-details/ |
You know that the 4A-GE was one of the main engines used in the Formula Atlantic series here in North America, right? SCCA and Vintage Racing still run these cars in hotly contested championships to this day. The engines are also used in sedans, open sports and rally events. This is GREAT news for such vintage racers. I’d say this is being done more for the racers still competing then for the handful of restorers that might need a new head or block. Although it's great news for them as well.

I do stumble on Toyota power when spectating at Tremblant, will have to give them a second glance next time. Tks for the insight on its use. After getting educated with Wiki on the many platforms it was used on came across some Formula Atlantic engine builder with a 35K$ build. https://hasselgren.com/shop/toyota/4ag/atlantic/ So the 3rd party builders already improving it... |
Bunta and Takumi will be Happy

As a throw-away in the article, they're re-casting Supra and Land Cruiser 6 cyl parts.
Ok. I'm in. Quote:

Hope that bring down the prices. Mazda did the same thing with the 13B engine but they are high prices as usual.
