ISR/Enjuku Racing turbo kit??
Hi everyone, has anyone had any experience with this ISR turbo kit. At first glance it seems like it would be pretty convenient to buy your own gt25/28 turbo and use the hardware that the kit provides and end up with a solid setup for around 3k. Is the intercooler going to take a crap on me? Or what am I missing? I feel like this would be a great route if you're looking to make about 300hp but I'm also worried this is too good to be true.
I am aware this doesn't include supporting mods like injectors, boost controller, BOV, tune, ECU, and clutch but most kits don't come with these items anyway https://www.enjukuracing.com/product...gt86-2-0l.html |
There is not much information available on this type of brand turbo kit. Many people opt for JDL or HKS since these are reputable. Greddy is discontinued.
Also, this kit doesn't include the turbo itself as the kit listed: Stainless Top Mount Turbo Manifold Intercooler and piping kit Turbine O2 Housing & Downpipe Full oil and water Turbo lines with 10an aluminum weld bung for oil pan You have to buy the GT25/28 separately, which will cost you $1.2k-$1.5k+. Overall, about $5k+ as other turbo kits sell at this price. I wouldn't cheap out on parts if you don't have a budget for supporting mods or an emergency motor, then you're not ready for boost. You're likely to spend roughly $10k-$15k if you want to do it right. |

The lesson is; you can certainly buy this kit but it is by no means a fully developed "kit" and you'll get no support with it. If you know what you're getting into then it's a foundation for sure but I wouldn't call it a deal. |
Sigh. Guess it was too good to be true, HKS kit here we go
