OK, so I am once again able to view pages but the screen has gone wonky. What’s with the big underlines under most characters?

Yep, same for me, feels like it is time to abandon this ship. :(

Looks like a font/typeset issue

What browser are you using? I'm running Brave and it looks fine. I also just checked Chrome and it looks fine there too.

I'm running Firefox on a Micro$oft Winblow$ 7 laptop.

Ah, that's most likely the issue then. Firefox is a fine browser but it does go through periods of difficulties like the other browsers. Windows 7 isn't doing you any favors. Since you're not interested in upgrading, have you considered any of the Linux distros?

I have a windows 11 machine and I hate that operating system with its OneDrive and saving to the cloud crap! When I was much younger I looked into Linux but I gave up because there seemed to be a new version every other week. Now I’m old and I just want things to work the way I want and understand. Not the way some corporate billionaire type seems to think it needs to so he can do what he wants with my information.
I should have upgraded to windows 10 when I had the chance as it seems to still be working fine for people.

Well, if it helps, you can uninstall OneDrive and the majority of the nonsense that Microsoft puts into Windows 11. I do understand about the pain from all the changes. I've been in a IT career for the last 30 years and I've seen all the changes from good to bad. It is definitely a pain.

I was finally able to reset my password today after a year or so of trying. Good to be back

Not sure what the hate for OneDrive is, assuming you want to use it. It works flawlessly to back up my computer, and even to offload large files from local storage. I used it at work and at home for the past 5 years with no issue. Plus, as long as you stay under 5 TB there is no nonsense with files and such (I have Family MS-365 subscription which allows 5 people 5TB each).

I've been using Microsoft OS since 1983 for both home and as a career. They definitely have their ups and downs. I don't really think it's ever been any better than today.

I think the point is that Microsoft is taking away the choice from the user. They force software on people that has some pretty serious strings attached. I do agree that things like OneDrive are good. However, there are many other choices if you don't want it.

I sort of get the hate for Windows. However, I think every OS comes with things I don't like these days and it's really a case of picking your poison.

Looks like our "developer" is doing this from a Mac. That's obviously the right development platform for generic users on the internet.

FWIW, I'm viewing this from Brave browser. I bounce between Linux Mint Cinnamon and Windows 11 and I never have this problem. I'm not sure why this kind of problem is so variable.
