Best Splitter for 2013 BRZ - GLTC
What's the best option for a front splitter. I have a 9LR Big Wang. Track only car. Needs to meet GLTC rules.
Options seem to be .... Racebred I like the way this chassis mounts, but not seeing the complete data I would like to see on this as a solution. Verus This seems like they really have the R&D data on this, all the rivnuts seem like it could be kind of a fiddly install. Something else? |

Pros
Cons
I bought mine because it was my first foray into aero parts and I wanted to get something that worked versus trying to figure it out myself. I would actually make a template off of it and make my own if this one gets damaged. |
I am not a fan of how the Verus mounts. A light off track and the fasteners don’t hold up. The racebreed is actually birch that is resin impregnated.
I am switching to a DIY setup that is just birch plywood coated with rubberized paint and using professional awesome quick release mount and support rods. 50 bucks gets me two. |

Can you build two? Will pick up! Do you think what you're building would be copacetic with the rules below? Splitter a. Definition: A horizontal, single-plane aerodynamic device attached to the lowest point of the front of the vehicle, protruding forward. It is intended to divert air and produce downforce through vertical pressure differential. A splitter shall have no vertical deviations. b. A front splitter may be added. A maximum of 4 rods or cables may be used to support the front and/ or sides of the splitter. No other material(s) may be used external to the body to support the splitter. c. The front splitter must not extend more than 2.0 inches past the original or approved bodywork as viewed from above for the entire profile of the splitter. d. No part of the splitter shall extend laterally any further than the widest point of the outside sidewall of the front tires with the wheels pointed straight ahead. e. The splitter may have vertical deviations, fences, etc., only if they are part of the production body- work for street use. f. The minimum ride height of the front splitter is 3.0 inches. |
