apparently a kickoff event happening in june. maybe partnering with the norcal gr86 group? i’m confused though because the gr86 group’s organizer likes to bitch about first gens going to their meets. maybe finch changed his mind.

yeah. since i’d been organizing the south bay meets since covid, when the norcal gr86 guy started doing his, people told me they’d go and he’d literally turn them away, saying “no, this meet isn’t for first gens. you can park in a different lot and walk here.” basically. i think i even saw one of his social media posts for a meet once and he said “we only have space for second gen cars”. one of the most ridiculous, unnecessary behaviors lol. anyway i digress.

i can try and let you know but finch hasn’t told me anything so other than the post i saw about a new kickoff on instagram i am out of the loop :iono:

Like Spike mentioned I was looking for them for the announcement video. But if you have and and can tag us on Instagram I will be sharing posts to keep promo up in the lead up.

I haven't posted the video cuz I wasn't sure how to post the vid here exactly lol. I was going to post the event thread as I gather more details.

I'll link to the IG post for now and figure that out later hopefully.

This is an event open to any and all years FRS, BRZ, and 86 (GR/AE/etc). I did add the other local IG accounts to the post to spread the word but I am leading the event like always

While it wont be effective for a couple more weeks, I will be the new head for NorcalGR86. While it will remain a seperate group in that they basically only operate on Discord there will be some more coordination between the 2 groups, starting with Summer Kickoff.

So hopefully anyone who has had an experience with them has some trust in me to bring the 86 community in Norcal together so we can all have a great time with cars we love.
