2022-2023 steering wheel work on a 2017 cluster?

Hey I’m under the impression that most of the parts are interchangeable (between both gens)

I’m planning on doing the 2017 retrofit on my 2013 BRZ

However I do also want to change my steering wheel at the same time so I’m looking to see if the 2022-2023 steering wheel will work on the first gen

This is the steering wheel i’m looking to get:

Any info appreciated thanks for the time

Update: went to subaru dealer. Found out that 2013 & 2017 steering whee air bag is the same so I might stick with a 2017 steering wheel

Did you find out if the new gen will fit any of the 1st gens? I sat in a '24 model the other day and I like the material the steering wheel is made out of a lot more than my 2018. (It's like a matte finish rather than the gloss like mine)

Your OEM 2018 wheel was likely matte when new as well but over the years oil from your skin caused it to turn shinny. A good interior detail should get you back to the desired matte finish.

Yeah that may be right. I detail it deeply about once or twice a year and regularly clean it fairly good, especially the things my hands touch. But I remember it being similar to it is now when I first got the car as well. And idk if you've sat in a new gen but the steering wheel is just entirely a different material. Plus it's a different thickness and I liked it more overall. It's not something I'm rushing to do [emoji23] just curious

I do know there was a change in the buttons from 2017 to 2018. Only electrical not size.
