Bla. Just give me an aux port and I'm good.

bofa 07-26-2011 03:03 PM

Yeah it was brought up in a previous thread, but agree with Tranz... but give me a usb port so I can connect and charge my phone and I'm g2g.

The entune for Toyotas look good, but I probably won't get any of the extra jazz. I'll find a way to mount my iPad in there, plus it will weight less!

Yeah I would love to do something like that with my iPad, a basic docking station so I can take it out with me on the go and a few basic knobs to control the music with so that I wouldn't have to reach over and touch the screen while driving.

I'm just hoping for basic iPod controls when I plug in my phone. Maybe a display of the artist/title would be cool. There's a jailbreak app, music controls that lets you control Pandora, Spotify, and basically any other app through the dock connector and also displays the artist and title on docks that support it. Only thing i need to look at my phone for is to change the channel. I think having an iPad in my dash would be a pain, you can't use it without taking your eyes off the
road.

Just an Aux Jack. USB would be nice too. Take out that CD player. Lol

Same thing could be said for a sat nav/entertainment system. Just saying I would rather have a custom made spot for my iPad than to have a factory installed setup. That is all. But that adds weight and takes away the drivers focus of the car. Not that I would seriously consider it, would just rather prefer it over a factory setup.

Yeah, I agree with you that I don't want the extra weight of a GPS in this car. I think the best solution will be an iPhone USB connection so you can control the music using the steering wheel controls. Then you could also mount it on the windshield and use it as a GPS. Like Moto said on the club4ag forum, there's really no reason to have a factory GPS anymore when everyone has a smartphone. I have both and I end up using the iPhone most of the time because I can get live traffic on it, and the maps on my GPS are 3 years old now.

I can't get Pandora in Canada, so I guess I'm not getting it. I want an iPod adapter thing. And speakers. That's it.

I know Pandora IPOed recently, but I still don't see them being successful 10 years down the road. I love Pandora, but it's just a tech 2.0 company for all I'm concerned right now. An aux port is the most universal option, at the very least.

Since the IPO, they have increased the number of ads to the point where it is almost unlistenable. The investors have clearly decided they want it to be making more money, which has ruined it. Now with Spotify in the US there isn't much use for Pandora. I doubt they'll be around much longer.

I used to listen to pandora over 40 hours a month, often maxing out the free version. Since spotify came out, I haven't listened to Pandora mostly because I can actually listen to what I want to. I had no idea that the ads have increased since then, because I thought there were too many to begin with. I know Pandora needed to IPO to be profitable, but this is a great example of a private company getting ruined by market subjection. Oh well, bring on spotify!
