I have tunnel vision: 2004+ BMW 330ci ZHP

As per the title, I'm loosely shopping for a new car. Hope to buy used. Canadian.
<$20,000
Driver's car
Not extremely expensive (aka 330ci > e46 M3)
No Miatas
No S2000
Must seat 4
And-before I go any further- the FR-S is out of my price range (and doesn't really have seating for 4).

So guys, there ya have it. In my price range the ZHP 330ci fits the bill, with 235hp rwd, leather sports seats, and a plethora of cosmetic mods. Cons, are the fact that it will be somewhat pricey to maintain, and are at BEST 8 years old. Pros include stunning good looks and a well-balanced ride.

Can you guys think of any newer, less-expensive, or more interesting cars for me to consider? Not really looking at the WRX lineup (unless we're talking 2011, but those get pricey...). The GTI is nice, but I'm not sold on the hatchback look. The Genisis coupe looks good, but has a crappy transmission, which is something that I rate important on the "must be good" scale.

I want something that is easily modable, extremely engaging, can carry a mountainbike via trunk OR clip-on carrier (aka no convertables/ultra small cars), and will last me a while without heartache. I'm not apposed to buying something and modifying it to turn it into a driver's car (say, if it needs suspension work to be even considered, I'd like to hear it). I've even considered a Honda Fit, but I would like something with a little more poise and class (and.. well, maybe sticking to sedans).
