Carbon Ceramic Brake Kits?

Hey guys,

tried doing a quick search but didn't really turn up anything.

what's the general consensus on here regarding Carbon Ceramic Brakes? Street and/or track use.

I understand a lot on here probably haven't used CCB/CCM's before as no one makes any for small wheels, but if a size was developed to fit with 15/16/17's and at a very reasonable cost, would there be sufficient interest?

Thanks!

Are you planning to develop a kit?

There are kits currently being developed by another company, but was just checking to see what peoples thoughts were on here.

I know guys in the Porsche club that swap out their carbon setups for standard brakes for track use. The carbon consumables just get too expensive.

Sounds a bit expensive for a cheap sports car. You'll have brakes worth more than the car.

They're swapping them out because they are using a bad quality setup (usually OE) which are extremely expensive to replace. The next generation of discs solve the previous gen's issues with premature wear.

If there were options that did not cost more than the car and were within the budget of the majority of track-focused cars (and even street), do you think there would be interest?

You're allowed to tell someone who's asked, who's manufacturing a product.

You can search "CTE Carbon Composites" on FB

If I have to search something on Fb, it's an immediate no for me.
If it were someone like AP Racing, Brembo. Alcon, that would be another story.
Unsubbed.

As I said, I don't want to get banned for posting direct links to their website

For the money there are a lot of other things I’d rather spend the cash on. We are talking about a relatively cheap car. Also what would the pad options be for these?

YCW 08-23-2024 06:07 PM

The company is making 2 options, a "race" and a "street". The performance would be like your typical 2nd gen CCM, is relatively expensive and would need to use ceramic pads.

The street is also a 2nd gen CCM, but can be used with regular or ceramic pads and price would be similar to existing 2pc iron rotors.

I am really not trying to be rude saying this but saying there is a “race” and “street” option really isn’t much of an answer. Even among track pads for standard rotors there is a huge variation in performance. Quite a few people, myself included, run staggered pad setups on the track as well.
