Pure Pricing & Dealer Installed Options (Markup) loophole
Just a reminder for anyone who is actually interested in buying an FR-S with the dealer installed options like leather seats, rims, tinted windows, etc.
The Pure Pricing definitely refers to the sticker price of the car. For instance, today we were about to buy an FR-S for about 25,300. A while later the financial manager tells us that they need to sell it with the options that they haven't installed yet. The main point is that the car was not 25,300 but instead 33k-34k. We went to another dealership a few miles away which had an FR-S with leather, $3995 premium. Long story short, we were still able to haggle our way to a better price, we haggled the 34k one down to 30,400 and the one with leather which was 28,600 was haggled down into 27k flat. It appears that dealerships that once sold for MSRP are now jumping on the "accessorization" bandwagon. If you're desperate to buy one, don't be afraid to haggle with the accessories! (Btw, I'm still on the look out for MSRP only:thumbup:) |
If you were only on the other coast...:)

Very rarely do I ever want dealer-installed accessories on the car. Give it to me the way it came off the truck please!

Yeah that dealer crap should actually lower the vehicle price. Well, unless they lower it on some te37's :)
|
:word: especially when some of the crap wheels cost the same or more than te37's...today I called a dealership and they had 4995 "premium" 19 inch wheels

I would say navigation would be better installed by the dealer as you know it would not screw up anything.

I even looked at SoCal sites today, and I want to say the average price for all available FR-S's is about in the 29k range. |

some cars had port installed options but still MSRP |
Damn.... I wish our prices over here were that low!!
I finally picked up my 86 on Tuesday night but I had to drive 416km (260 miles) to get one of the very few 86's here in South Africa. The high spec model was only realeased mid August so stocks are extremely limited at the moment. Anyway, final price on the vehicle here came to ZAR334k. (Approx. 40100 USD) And that's just for the stock high spec manual. I plan on getting the windows tinted a bit darker and also getting the TRD bootlip spoiler at a later date. So I'll be shopping around for best prices too. But as for the other extras that are available on the TRD shopping list, I'll give them a skip. The car looks great as is! :-) |

Ah! Thanks for that, ZN6. In that case I'm not too upset :-)

http://jeff.supramania.com/scion_frs/ Jus sayin. I will admit what you are building is pretty classy but dang, can't even begin to fathom what you will be selling that for. Is it done yet? If you want me to remove the link just say the word and I'll take it down since I just robbed the URL from a photo you posted. |
