15 Things you didn't know about your GR86/BRZ
Hey Twiners,
I spent some hours this weekend peeling through the owner's manual, maintenance manual, and every other book that was stuffed in my twin's glovebox. The outcome: an unhappy wife along with a video featuring 15 things you didn't know about your 86 or BRZ. Included also are a handful of hidden features that still might surprise you . Did you already know any of these? Any big ones I missed?? https://youtu.be/K0XrTf6Qxig Cheers, -- Mike |
have an early production 2022, I don't have the navigation display in the dash, haven't downloaded any updates in awhile but I don't remember hearing that included in any updates.

The little circle icon doesn't appear at all on the options for that display screen unless actively navigating to a destination. Simply having a map running on the screen doesn't cut it. You have to start navigating and then change the display screen |
This is a pretty cool video. I didnt know some of this stuff.
Regarding lock/unlock I thought you could change it through the car settings if you want to unlock just your door or all doors |
The emergency gas lock would mean removing the OEM Audio+ sub for me, that would be a huge a PITA. Hopefully I'll never need it.

tried again, updated to current firmware, tried while actively using Google Maps, Waze and Apple Maps - no luck. I'm using CarPlay on 2022 BRZ - searched through all menu items in left side instrument cluster, looked into settings menu, didn't see anything related. |
I don't have time to go back and watch the video to see what type of phone the OP is using, but I wonder if it is an Android Auto vs Car Play thing?
I only say this because in my Wife's MDX when she's using Car Play, navigation only happens in the normal place on the infotainment screen with the maps. However, when I plug in my phone and run Android Auto, I also get additional, simple, turn information which shows up on the small info screen between the speedo and the tach. |
