Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro 4Matic+ Coupe vs. GR86
One has 2x the engine of the other, and costs 10x the other, but the similarities in the design are notable. Hmm...
The Mercedes-AMG is obviously a world-class street legal race car, but who's to say the GR isn't up there. On a cost-per-mile to operate basis, I fell the GR is clearly the winner. Just my humble opinion... https://i.imgur.com/jAWwwW2.jpeg |
One lets you heel-toe/double clutch, the other doesn't. One you can park anywhere without worry, the other, not so much... :-)

One will depreciate $50K in the first two years, the other will hold its value.
(AMG has one of the worst depreciation rates of all cars. Ask me how I know) One will eat you alive in maintenance after the warranty expires, the other will not. ($5000 brake job. Ask me how I know) -an ex AMG owner. Seriously. |
That AMG is a *pig* of a car.
Lightweight = better sports car. |
LOL @ "world-class street legal race car"

Agree the 86 is a better driver's car. |
I've often thought the design similarities between the GR86 and the new AMG GT are uncanny, as in it does seem as though there was direct inspiration in design. However, curiously enough, if there was I think the AMG would have been influenced by the GR, since the GR was released earlier (and presumably the design was penned earlier).
The new AMG GT is a huge disappointment, especially compared to its predecessor which was lighter, lower, and far more of a dedicated sports car. The new one is fat, tall, badly balanced, and just all around less appealing. Really disappointing what is happening to so many of the iconic prestige performance cars, between this and the new M5 etc. |

Well BMW has pretty much lost its mind... As for Porsche, not sure which is worse, hybrid 911 or Cayman EV... sigh. It will all be Mobility Pods going at the government mandated speed in a few yrs :-( |
This is my dream car. Its twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivers breathtaking acceleration, while the advanced suspension and all-wheel drive system provide exceptional handling and grip.
