Verus hood vents
Are there any downsides to running Verus hood vents?
I’d like the added venting out of the engine compartment. Especially at the track. I don’t DD the car any longer so it’s seldom out in the rain, except if caught while pleasure cruising or on a road trip. |

They don't look gud
I've noticed that hood vents increase the HVAC intake temperature, since it's pulling air out of the bay and dumping it into the windshield/cowl where your cabin intake is. |

That said, in normal driving conditions, there should be minimal to no impact on AC performance. |
I think the Verus Hood Vents are a great first step in hood venting. it's a relatively easy installation, their templates are great to utilize, place and install.

Very happy that I installed mine. If I could do it over, I'd just go Trackspec though. No need for half measures

I regret not going with the full sized Trackspec vents. I used a Civic Type R vent which helps with cooling, but reduction of lift is likely limited due to the size. I’ll likely end up getting a new hood and getting the full sized BRZ vents

My Verus hood vent cracked and somewhat melted, would not recommend if you intend to track heavily or run in hot weather.

Perhaps he cracked/melted the optional rain guards. They are plastic. |

Yea, unfortunately the GR86 hood vent is plastic. Get the TrackSpec one, you’ll want the added reduction of lift anyways. |
