with the increase in size and displacement, im kinda hopefully that perhaps a Toyota variant could make it state side.

yeah they upsized this concept to be more miata sized.
I think the design used is based on one variant of the Copen...previous gen or just a different face than the current Copen.
The original Copen is actually a tiny Kei car.

Unfortunately, Kei cars don't make it to the States until after they're old enough to be imported. I saw that GR Copen a few weeks ago for the first time and thaught that it's a shame we will have to wait several years before we would ever get a chance to drive one on an American road.

Daihatsu has been gone from North America since the late 90's if I remember correctly, so if Toyota doesn't bring the Vision Copen here officially in some form with their badge on it, again we'll end up having to wait 25 years, and with it being a concept car, probably even longer, if ever.

One can still wish I suppose.
